National Work Readiness Credential (WRC)

“Taking the work out of finding the right workers!”

In 2007, five Med-Ed students were the first in the state of Kentucky to earn the National Work Readiness Credential (WRC).  The five are Tonya Battle, Amy Johnson, Jennifer Hall, Karla Perrin, and Sonja Hardy.  Med-Ed was a twelve-week, medical and office training course provided through a joint partnership with Community Action Partnership (CAP) and Jefferson County Public Schools Adult and Continuing Education.

JCPS Adult Education is one of fifty sites nationwide to be originally involved with the soft launch of the WRC.  The credential assesses skills in reading, math, problem solving, and communications, and is designed to provide a portable as well as a national certification that affirms that individual job seekers have demonstrated the knowledge and skills needed for successful performance as entry-level workers.

Call 485-3337 for more information about this new credential or visit           www.workreadiness.com .
